There's nowhere else quite like Hampsons. It's a real one off (at least it is now, since the Original Huddersfield branch closed). Some of the negative reviewers clearly don't get this place. It follows none of the usual garden centre rules. Plants are scattered throughout the site and there's a huge array of non-gardening stuff. Reduced and even free plants are at the entrance. The range of plants is impressive and there are rare and unusual things amongst the others. Fabulous place. I go often and rarely come away with the boot any less than full.

I find this place lacks lustre!! It's a disorganised dishevelled mess! It needs some one to shake it up and get a business head on. There are so many good garden centres around the area it beggars belief that anyone would go to this one. It does appeal to some folk, but I guess you get what you pay for, and if you like to rummage round to find the odd bargain this is the place for you, but for me it's just not worth it. I cannot recommend it as a garden centre and the food sold here looks anemic and unappetising, the selection of veg leaves a lot to b desired. The flowers however are good quality and the florist knows what she's doing.

I've used Hampsons for a few years and have always found the value for money. I was really disappointed today when I entered the cafe to see a Christmas tree and Christmas decoration up. Its early by anyone's standard but come on guys to put them up before 11/11. Please show some respect for our fallen.
