Having read the previous reviews I don't think people realise this is supposed to be a review about the garden centre!! Ladds is a village with independently owned businesses on site. The garden centre itself does not sell puppies, Linton Petstore sells puppies. The garden centre is a wonderful place to shop with unique pieces that can't be found in the "chain" garden centres, the staff are very welcoming and always happy to help with any enquiry. A great place to visit and have a coffee or homecooked lunch. Have never had a bad experience and I visit regularly. Always 5 stars for me :)

Like others, I strongly dislike that puppies are being sold here (although there have been noticeable improvement within the last year). The pet shop workers seem to have little knowledge about the animals they sell and their care. In the exotics section, the fish are noticeably ill every time I visit, with large sores on many of the koi (which are still for sale and not in a separate tank for treatment). Last time I visited, they also had an assortment of birds in outside aviaries which were poorly kept (very dirty, lack of clean water, birds with feathers missing from bullying - possibly due to overcrowding). The range of non-livestock is fairly good, and not an awful price but I have seen better elsewhere and would not purchase anything from this establishment due to the lack of animal care. I have not visited in a few months now as it is too upsetting.

Looked at the centre today and all seemed very good, bit pricey and I'm not 100% convinced about the puppy situation. My biggest gripe is that the website is crap. Tried looking for the kiddy houses/sheds and always came up as "404 Error - Page not Found". Bang goes another sale as I'll go elsewhere! Not happy
