You need to book if you want to eat in the restaurant, the food is so good and the price is very good We travel from Exmouth, to eat and buy our garden plants even though we have two garden centres on our doorstop, our garden is full of plants and flowers from The Old Well,

The Christmas decorations in the restaurant are a delight and set the atmosphere for a most enjoyable lunch with friends. The food and service were excellent and very good value. We followed up with a leisurely browse and a little shopping which called for a good deal of self- discipline as there were some lovely cards, decorations, etc on sale including the best choice of cake decorations I have seen in a long while. Willing help from a member of staff to recharge my flat battery, having left my headlights on during the meal, ensured that the day wasn't marred in any way. We would thoroughly recommend as the ideal place to get into the Christmas spirit.

We came in for lunch having been recommended by a friend. Warm and traditional is the best way to describe the restaurant and the menu is very traditional, including a very 1970s curry! My wife ordered a pasty with salad including coleslaw, with an extra portion of chips on the side, what she got was a pasty with a little bit of tomato and cucumber and chips on the plate. She mentioned this to the waitress who disagreed and said that she just ordered the pasty with chips. But the kitchen did very soon sort it out and the salad was very good. I was thinking of ordering a baked potato but having read a previous review saying they had a microwaved potato I am glad I didn't. I did have the curry, not sure I would have it again. The shop in the garden centre is over filled - as a wheelchair user it is impossible to get around, OK I know its pre Christmas but there was just too much stuff.
