Rushfields was established in 1984 on a Green field site, over the years it has gone through many changes, starting its life as a small nursery growing bedding plants and vegetables in polythene tunnels, it soon became apparent that the demand for a wider range of products would mean that Rushfields needed to expand.

A friend and I had smashed avocado and hummus on toast today. I have to say I have never eaten such tasteless mush … ever. The avocado wasn't smashed it was liquidised and completely tasteless. Same with the hummus - thin, watery and tasteless. These are very simple dishes that only a complete incompetent could get wrong and at £8 a pop a waste of money. I certainly won't be eating there again.

I often bring my granddaughter to the cafe for her treat of chocolate cake with ‘nanny’. She absolutely loves it and we usually find everything is perfect. Yesterday however she only ate the icing, which is unusual! I smelt the cake and tried a piece and it was definitely off. It smelt like old dried bread and tasted stale. We took it back and there was no real apology just ‘it’s only a day old’ which seemed unlikely as there were only 2 pieces left whilst the other cakes were almost whole. Although I suppose choc cake could be that popular but there was definitely something wrong with the cake. We swoped for a Brownie. The staff lack of interest spoilt our visit and I do feel let down by no apology or care. In fact they still charged us the price of the cake even though the Brownie was cheaper. Mistakes happen but because of the lack of an apology I’m not sure if I would risk another £17 of a ‘cake and coffee’ visit again.

Pity they did not always treat long term customers well got very complacent and rude stop going spent a lot of money there
