I have been using this garden centre for many years and have watched it grow. The standards have not changed at all. The plants are excellent quality , very well maintained and are reasonably priced. The cafe is lovely, great menu, good sized portions. Saving the best for last, the staff. There are very friendly and always there to answer any questions or give recommendations. I don’t go anywhere else now, even if I have to travel a few extra miles to get there. Try, you will not be disappointed.

Overall this garden centre has great variety with a nice cafe. The staff are helpful, however I was left annoyed when the lady at the till offered me a loyalty card which I was happy to accept, when I got home I looked at the receipt and I realised she charged me £1 for it without telling me. I don’t mind paying that, however it is illegal to charge someone without letting them know! She also did the same to the friend I was with. She probably had a target to reach, however breaking the law is not the way to achieve it!

Hello Lydia, We are really sorry to hear you have had a poor experience at Whitegates. Clearly you should have been advised at the till that there was a one off lifetime £1 charge for the loyalty card. It is standard practice for our till operators to advise customers of this. Clearly we have had a gap here and we will make sure we retrain our staff to make sure this doesn't happen again. We certainly would not have set our staff any sales targets as we are a family run business and take a pride in looking after our customers as our number one aim.
