I had not realised it was possible to rate aspects of Bridgemere Garden Centre but now that I have found it by chance looking for Opening TImes, I w ould like to give my general support to those reviewers who gave the cafeteria (inside one next to WH Smiths to be clear) a poor rating. Ithas been my experience on more than one occasion that the counter staff are unhelpful and prefer to stand around gossiping rather than serve people who are standing at the counter. My last experience astonished me but would take too long to explain here - it was just another case of plain rudeness. When Bridgemere was privately owned I enjoyed going there, I only go there now for the other shops on the site and I can certainly do without the poor attitude of staff in the carfeteria so I never go in there any more.

Very poor. Visited 10 July 2014 with afternoon tea reserved for a group of more than 30 older and disabled people, cost £8.50 per head. It consisted of 2 small finger rolls, a scone with cream and jam, a small cake and one cup of tea per person. No service at all, everything was all piled up and dumped on a central table for us to help ourselves or each other. Only one plate was provided for each person so scones had to be eaten among the sticky remains of the rolls. Yeugh! Disgracefully overpriced. AVOID.
