The centre started life in the late 1960s as Medlands Nursery, owned by a Reverend Wight who reputedly bought it with money borrowed from J. Arthur Rank, owner of Pinewood Studios.

Pros: Very friendly feel to this garden centre, makes you want to come back, Gardening club card good, Head Office customer service v good and v helpful
Staff: Majority are always willing to help, shame we can't name & praise people on this website
Size of garden centre: good array but see con below
Cons: The Manager tends to be a real stickler about returns. Website says if there's a problem with certain plants you've bought they will be replaced or refunded for up to a year. He makes you go through a bit of an interrogation process even demanding you dig up the dead plant as proof - not easy when its a bush! Photos of dead plant, record showing you bought it, very wet weather .. hmm
Staff: Retired part time Lady who provides gardening advice just rude. Customer service means in a garden Centre giving advice to the customer not barking or belitting the customer!
Size: Needs to definitely be extended. Go to any of the other branches and they house huge variety
