The nursery is in the centre of the rural village of Ashdon (map) about 250 metres from the Rose & Crown public house on the road heading to Saffron Walden. Ashdon is a charming conservation village set within the rolling hills of NW Essex the borders of both Cambridgeshire and Suffolk only a (long) stones throw away. The old market town of Saffron Walden is 4 miles to the west - click for a suggested route through if coming from the London or the west.

Having spent my working life in the nursery/garden industry I somewhat despair of the plant offering in most garden centres. Visiting the area and told of Beeches Nursery I called in and initially didn’t expect much as the entrance is small and no obvious parking. I was amazed at what, first by the areas that unfolded, and then particularly by the huge range of really interesting, unusual and specialist plants available. Good quality, excellent prices. Having only gone for a look I immediately spent nearly £100 and consider this a real find.
