Women make better gardeners, claims survey
It has traditionally been regarded as a man’s domain – but the finest gardens are tended by women, claims a survey.
Not only do women keep plots pristine and free of weeds, but they’re also best at choosing, arranging and tending flowers, according to a study.
Weedkiller maker Roundup quizzed 2,000 Brits and came to the conclusion that the fairer sex made better gardeners.
Men, however, were not completely useless outdoors. Blokes are more suited to cutting the grass, tending veg patches and looking after patios and decks.
“Traditionally, the garden has been thought of as a man’s responsibility,” said Roundup’s Gary Philpotts.
“But it seems many now think women are the best at making sure the lawn and flower beds look nice.”
Planting and picking home-grown vegetables was one of the most popular garden activities for Brits.
