What a shame the customer did not ask to see one of the horticultural assistance on site. Or speak to either of the two people in the office at the tills. Or use the customer helpline in the plant sales area. The young man she refers to is till staff who collects money for all the depts. on site. One of the plant sales people could have directed her to the new stock and avoided the disappointment. Because this is a big site 10 acres we grow a lot of our stock and it is therefore not always out in the public area.Most people find the staff friendly and helpful.

I visited this garden centre today with the intention of buying a rose and clematis for a present. On asking the one boy staff there where to find the roses, he directed me to the new area outside and said there may be some elsewhere too. On inspecting the roses, decided that they were in a very poor condition, some having black spot, so proceeded to the clematis area and found them also in a poor condition, wilting and looking very sad. On leaving, I told the only person around (same "boy") that I had never seen plants in such a poor condition. I obviously did not buy anything and will probably not return there.
