Great group of staff involved with the Garden Centre /Shop operation - very helpful, professional and always customer focused. Superb product range. Sadly the Olive Tree arm of the business has gone down hill over the last month or so - poor service, seem to be neglectful of their customers and lack it appears any management involvement/supervision, What a shame as the menu is first class and the food/drink good quality but a wait of 10 minutes seems to the norm.

Yesterday I experienced Afternoon Tea at The Olive Tree with five of my friends for the first time. The staff, as I have found before, were very attentive and the selection of sandwiches and cakes was good which included a separate display of gluten free food. Added to our enjoyment and surprise was a bottle of Prosecco which was supplied as it was a special occasion. I have visited The Olive Tree many times over the years, usually for lunch, and have always found the food and service to be good and would recommend it. Ashtead Park Garden Centre has been a favourite of mine for many years and I have always been pleased with the selection of plants and shrubs many of which are on display in my garden. The staff have always been very friendly and offer assistance when needed, again I would recommend it.

We visited the garden centre for the first time today, even though we are local it has not been on our agenda to go. However ,after a lot of research we decided to get some trees and shrubs to bulk out our garden. With a two year old and a baby in a pushchair and it being a hot day we thought it was wise to try out the restaurant for refreshments first and plastered on A4 paper just about everywhere the instruction was to take a seat and wait for service. We waited ten minutes at least in the sun and had two waitresses ignore us, I decided we should leave and asked one of the ladies that ignored us on the way out why it was that we had been ignored to which she replied that I should have gone to the counter if I wanted to be served! We will never go back especially as we were planning on spending a disgusting amount of money in the garden centre , it is not our loss at all. If it is run as a separate business I would consider the impact of the service on all business on the land.
