Podington Garden Centre was always good but since being taken over is even better. It now has a range of basic household items, d.i.y. items and clothing as well as the usual garden centre stuff. Staff are very helpful and friendly and the cafe is excellent (albeit slow service at times). Prices in all areas are very competitive and what was a once every 6 month visit is now once a month. By the way, my wife says the hot chocolate drink is the best she has ever tasted.

Very sad to hear that Poddington Garden Centre is to close. It has changed out of all recognition since being taken over by the Wyevale Chain, the prices have rocketed, the plantsmen who could advise on anything don't seem to be around anymore. Food prices in the cafe have also risen quite shockingly. The website still says 'independent' garden centre but this is not true. The lovely Christmas atmosphere has changed too and visits to Santa have become very commercialised. Very sad...

My favourite garden centre offering a wide range of plants (many unusual) keen & knowledgable staff.
Very sad and disappointed to hear that it has recently become another garden centre to fall to the giant Wyevale. How can this monopolization be allowed? I can see it becoming like all the rest of the Wyevale chain - just like a B&Q 'garden centre' :(
